Along the infrastructure catchpits are used to filter and collect silt to keep trackside drainage systems running efficiently. These drainage grids cover the catch pits and can be found in a wide variety of locations along the infrastructure and also between the lines. These grids are normally embedded into the ballast along the side of the track.

Supplied unpainted; a light coat of primer is recommended before painting / weathering to suit your lineside. They are often painted blue to make them easily distinguishable for track workers.
