Add a bit of detail to your lineside with Gradient sign posts.Supplied in a packs of 8 sign posts with a variety of gradients.OO GaugeGradient sign postsSupplied in a packs of 8 sign posts with a variety of gradients OO GaugeThe numbering on each post is slightly raised to allow it to be picked-out in black on each sign post.Gradients on the railway are rarely constant over any considerable length, and may change several times within the space of a mile.Gradient signs were first used around 1850 with a sign placed at each location where the gradient of the line changes. Most gradient sign posts located on the lineside have two arms facing the track, one on either side of a post. The arms slant up or down to indicate the direction of the gradient, and have the gradient marked on them. The gradient is expressed as a ratio, e.g. "1 in 200" (or "1:200")that means that the track rises (or drops) one unit for every 200 units travelled horizontally.1 in 200 is therefore a steeper gradient than 1 in 500.Some designs of gradient sign post do not show the first part of the ratio so 1 in 200 is shown merely as “200”.In general gradient sign posts are painted white with black lettering, however from the 1970s onwards some are painted yellow.

Add some detail to your OHLE fitted trackwork with these APC (Auto Power Control) magnet boxes.OO GaugePack of 8 (unpainted) - SET E5-7.This pack includes 8 APC Magnet Boxes (unpainted) - SET E5-7
Overhead Electrified lines are split into electrically separate sections (often up to 30 miles long) separated by Neutral Sections. APC (Auto Power Control) magnets are used to ensure the power draw from a train is switched off when passing through the Neutral Section to prevent overhead line damage.
APC magnets are normally mounted to the sleeper ends on both sides of the running line 30 metres before and 10 metres after a Neutral Section as follows-
Each overhead wire neutral section can be up to 45metres (approx. 2 x Mk3 Coach lengths) long and is split up into the following sections,• firstly there is a 30 metre run-in, this is from the first set of APC magnets to the insulated part of the Neutral Section, • secondly there is a Dead Section (up to 5 metres long), which includes ceramic insulators then a dead section then more ceramic insulators, • lastly there is a 10 metre run off, this is from the end of the insulated section to the second set of APC magnets. An optional extra to go with your APC magnets is our Neutral Section trackside signs which can be found here (Product 4WH0603701).SET E5-7 - Supplied unpainted; a light coat of primer is recommended before painting / weathering to suit your lineside. They are often yellow to make them easily distinguishable for track workers.Note that this product represents the APC magnet boxes, they are not actually magnetic!

What Are Raise And Lowering Pantographs Signs Used For?
Railway pantograph raise lower signs are signs that are used to indicate to train operators when they should raise or lower the pantograph on their electric locomotive or train. The pantograph is an apparatus that collects electric power from overhead lines and transfers it to the train's electric motor.
These signs are typically used in areas where overhead lines are present, such as electrified railway tracks, and where there are sections of the track where the overhead lines are not energized. The signs indicate to the train operator when to raise or lower the pantograph so that it does not come into contact with the overhead lines that are not energized.
The signs can be in the form of a pictogram or text, and are usually placed at a sufficient distance before the section of track where the pantograph needs to be raised or lowered. Train operators must be vigilant in observing and obeying these signs to avoid damage to the pantograph and overhead lines, and to ensure the safety of the train and its passengers.
What Are Railway Coasting Signs?
Railway coasting signs are signs that are placed along railway tracks to inform train operators that they should coast, or reduce their speed and coast, without using the locomotive's power. These signs are typically used when approaching areas where it is important to reduce noise, such as near residential areas or wildlife habitats, or where it is necessary to conserve fuel or reduce wear on the locomotive.
It is important for train operators to obey coasting signs as failing to do so can result in excessive noise, damage to the locomotive, and potential safety hazards.

Concrete Cable Trough Trunking is an integral component of modern railway infrastructure, contributing to the efficiency, safety, and reliability of train operations by providing a robust and organized solution for cable management and distribution.
Concrete Cable Trough Trunking Mega Pack - OO Gauge
This Mega Pack Covers Over 5.5 Meters Of Cable Trunking!

1 - Concrete Cable Open Trough Pack (Pack of 13)
1 - Concrete Cable Junctions Pack (Pack Of 8)
1 - Concrete Cable Trough Angle Pack (Pack Of 16)
About Concrete Cable Trough Trunking:
Railway concrete trough trunking is utilized extensively throughout the network for various purposes:
Cable Management: One primary use is for organizing and protecting cables that run alongside or underneath railway tracks. The trough trunking provides a secure pathway for cables, preventing damage from environmental factors and ensuring efficient cable management.
Electrical Distribution: It serves as a conduit for electrical wires, allowing for the safe and reliable distribution of power to various railway components such as signals, lighting systems, communication devices, and other infrastructure along the tracks.
Safety Enhancement: Concrete trough trunking enhances safety by minimizing the risk of cable exposure, which could otherwise pose hazards to railway personnel, passengers, and maintenance workers. By securely enclosing the cables, it reduces the likelihood of accidental contact or tripping.
Durability and Longevity: Concrete trough trunking is known for its durability and ability to withstand heavy loads, extreme weather conditions, and wear and tear over time. This ensures the longevity of the railway infrastructure, minimizing the need for frequent repairs or replacements.
Maintenance Access: While providing robust protection for cables, the trunking also allows for relatively easy access during maintenance and repair operations. Removable lids or access points facilitate inspection, troubleshooting, and necessary adjustments without disrupting railway operations extensively.
Integration with Signalling Systems: Railway concrete trough trunking plays a crucial role in supporting signalling systems along the tracks. It accommodates cables necessary for transmitting signals that control train movements, ensuring smooth and safe operations throughout the network.
